EFDA stands for European Fusion Development Agreement. A long name for a simple idea: an agreement between European fusion research institutions
and the European Commission to strengthen their coordination and collaboration, and participate in collective activities. Read more >>

EFDA activities include coordination of fusion physics and technology research in EU laboratories, the exploitation of the world's largest
fusion experiment, the Joint European Torus (JET) in the UK, training and career development in fusion and EU contributions to international

Currently, there are 27 national Associations across Europe which are associated to the European Fusion Programme.

EFDA has two locations: Garching in Germany and Culham
in the UK, which are both responsible for one or more of EFDA´s activities.
The European Commission, assisted by a number of advising bodies, is responsible for implementing the Fusion Programme of the European Union.
