About EFDA

EFDA is the European Fusion Development Agreement. A long name for a simple idea: an agreement among all the Euratom Fusion Associations to strengthen their co-ordination and collaboration. Its activities include fusion technology R&D, the exploitation of the Joint European Torus (JET) facilities, and contributions to international collaborations, such as the ITER-project.

Activities

EFDA provides coordination and support of fusion related R&D in Europe, exploits the Joint European Torus (JET) in the UK, and coordinates the European contribution to the ITER project. Read more >>

Associated laboratories

Currently, there are 29 fusion research institutions across Europe which are associated to the European Fusion Programme. Read more >>

EFDA locations

EFDA has three locations (Garching in Germany, Barcelona in Spain, and Culham in the UK), which are each responsible for one or more of EFDA´s activities.
